Update on Shellshock Vulnerability

Dear Pertino Customers and Partners:

Many of you are aware of the recently discovered UNIX Bash exploit commonly known as Shellshock (CVE-2014-7169).

The Pertino engineering and devops teams have investigated the potential implications of this vulnerability on our Cloud Network Engine service. We have patched external facing systems as well as non-exposed systems that were subject to this vulnerability. Additionally, we are collaborating with our cloud infrastructure service providers to ensure the risk has been fully mitigated throughout our service delivery infrastructure. At this time, there is no risk to our customers and partners.

Pertino is committed to protecting all of the information that you have entrusted to us, and we take this incident, and all security threats, very seriously. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact us at

Thank you for networking with Pertino — Ronn

VP Engineering

After a PhD at the University of Texas and stints with several startups in the Silicon Hills (Austin, TX), I relocated to the Silicon Valley. Since then I have been delivering innovative, reliable and scalable cloud services created by brilliant teams (Tellme, Liveops, OnLive, XDN). My passion is building stuff — be it teams or technology, woodwork or gastronomic-experiments, I find the creative process gratifying. Occasionally performing the odd piece of magic is fun too.
