Welcome to the cloud era of networking

What happens when you combine cloud, virtualization, and software?  You get a reinvention of business networking that’s simple, hardware-free, and everywhere.

No one articulates the significance of this new, cloud era combo better than Todd Krautkremer, our VP Sales and Marketing (and former network engineer). Todd recently published an article in IDG Connect – Software is Taking a Bite Out of Networking – that provides a glimpse of where the future of networking is headed and a brief retrospective on where it’s been.

In Todd’s article, he points out that each era in modern networking was triggered by a disruptive, unstoppable technology advancement.  The first era was marked by the PC and distributed computing, and the second by the rise of IP and the Internet. We sit today on the cusp of the next era, triggered by mobility and the cloud. With every transition, the innovations and progress of the new overcame the inertia of the old. It’s about to happen again.

Pertino’s on the forefront of this new era of modern business networking built from the ground up to meet the needs of mobility and cloud. We call it cloud networking, and it’s about to change the networking game as we know it.
