Pertino Launches Beta Program in Spiceworks Community
Los Gatos, CA – October 9, 2012 – Pertino, a virtual networking solution for the cloud era, announced today it will first launch its beta program in the Spiceworks Community, the world’s largest IT community of more than 2.2 million IT professionals.
The start of this beta program moves Pertino a step closer toward launching its revolutionary cloud networking solution from stealth-mode. Pertino is combining the power and pervasiveness of the cloud with network virtualization and social-inspired, people-centric management capabilities to radically reduce the cost and complexity of wide-area networking for small-and medium-size businesses (SMBs).
Pertino chose Spiceworks due to its unique position within the highly-valued and difficult to reach SMB IT market. The Spiceworks Community represents nearly $400 billion in annual IT product and services spend and provides a real-world, real-time testing environment for innovative technology companies looking to reach the SMB market. The program will enable Pertino to engage directly with qualified IT professionals willing to share their first-hand experience, insights and feedback. Pertino will attend SpiceWorld, Spiceworks’ annual IT technology conference, in Austin, TX this week to share more details on the program.
The two-part beta program includes a current controlled private beta followed by a community-wide beta to begin in November 2012. Pertino will collect feedback on product functionality and usability and insights on innovative use cases from customers across the SMB landscape.
“SMB’s are first-movers when it comes to embracing cloud-based IT services which is why we believe they are ready to embrace networking as the next entry into the cloud era,” said Todd Krautkremer, Pertino’s vice president of marketing. “Spiceworks has the ideal community platform for launching new SMB-focused IT technologies and it helps solve the market reach conundrum that has traditionally been a barrier to innovation for this segment.”
Pertino has already received notable recognition from leading industry publications such as CRN as a “Hot Tech Startup” and Network World as one of the “12 Hot Cloud Computing Companies Worth Watching.”
“Small-to-midsize business IT buyers are attracting the attention of young, innovative tech companies who are causing SMBs to rethink the way they use technology,” said Jay Hallberg, Co-founder and Vice President of Marketing for Spiceworks. “Spiceworks and its community of 2.2 million IT professionals represent an ideal platform for companies like Pertino who are looking to build disruptive technologies for this growing market.”
Pertino will expand its beta program to the broader public before the end of the year and is positioning for launch in early 2013. Anyone interested in participating in either the private or public beta should visit www.pertino.com and register.
